The Clinical Scientist in Audiology Zoe, is able to treat patients taking anti-coagulant (blood thinners) medication such as Warfarin (Coumadin), Clopidogrel, Heparin, Apixaban (Eliquis), Dabigatran (Pradaxa) and Rivaroxaban (Xarelto), however, the patient must sign a consent form stating their medication. In addition, consent must be given for Zoe to treat a wound immediately, if required during the procedure.
If a foreign body is found in the ear (s) during wax microsuction, consent is also being given to remove the foreign body during the procedure (ie not just wax removal).
Zoe is able to treat children from 2 years of age, with parental or legal guardian consent. All children 18 years or under, must be accompanied by a consenting adult parent or legal guardian.
